3/4 Ton of fun - ‘95 Sierra

Slow progress tonight. The nights have been long with little progress. I was able to drill the bolt but my extractor set is garbage. I am going to pick up a better set tomorrow and hopefully get it out.

On the body mounts I soaked the frame mounts with Klean Strip. I’ll hose it off tomorrow and then let it dry before I add the JB weld. I want to give it the best chance it can have at working.

Bed goes on on Sunday. I have to notch the braces underneath to clear the notch but that won’t be too bad. I also want to touch up a couple spots on the frame.

True. It just really annoys me that 1 snapped bolt can cause so much trouble.

I don’t know if I’ll be ready for the show come September. It’s going to be a close one.

I’m gonna give ‘er hell every free moment I have. Not gonna throw in the towel. Every day this summer I finish the day job and go thrash on the truck. I’m probably a bit slower than others but I’ve never done something as involved as this. I try to make sure I do it right.

I wish I had a Lowe’s near me. I’ve got HD and Menards. Used to have a Sear’s for Caveman tools but not anymore. I think Ace sells some.

Step 1: buy ICON extractor set
Step 2: see that they don’t work
Step 3: rummage through my great grandfathers tools that my dad keeps on hand
Step 4: spend 1 minute removing
Step 5: return ICON tool set

@fancyTBI didn’t you say you bought new cab mounts from LMC? If you could snap a picture of one of the front core support mounts I’d appreciate it.
