TL;DR at the bottom

Wassup peeps

I recently picked up a 98 K1500 w/ a ht 383. Both the engine and transmission have about 120k miles on em. The PO rebuilt the tranny and added a hardened sunshell and vette servo, that's about all the info I have on it.

Anyway the problem is that 4th gear is slipping. The transmission will shift fine 1st through 3rd in (OD) but soon as it shifts to 4th then it starts slipping. It drives fine in (D). In fact I drove the truck 3.5 hours home from where I bought it and didn't run into any problems, other than terrible fuel economy haha.

I'm not well versed in the 4L60e, but from what I've gleaned from the interwebs, there's two ways 4th gear is applied:

4th apply piston in the servo and the 3-4 clutch pack

I have 2nd and 3rd, so would it be a ****** seal on the 4th apply piston seal?

Would love to get some other opinions on this as I don't know **** about these transmissions.

TL;DR: OD no worky
