Hey all, nice to meet you ! My name is Josh and I’ve just recently decided to restore a 1989 Stepside that my father’s childhood best friend used to drive daily. He parked it when the tranny blew at 120K and let people strip it of parts over the past 7 years, so it got down to bare bone remnants after being rat infested, pulled of parts, and sitting in the Arizona heat with the windows up. Along this restoration journey I’ll have plenty to ask, and will need some guidance considering the truck is stripped as far down as it is; after all this is my first OBS I’ve ever restored so I’m in for a treat. If you care to follow my journey, I’ll be posting plenty as I strip it, clean it, and put it all back together. I’ve included pictures of my progress so far, which has been quite minimal considering it’s current condition. Can’t wait to see the final product through !

:welcome: Looks like a fun project. It's hard to tell from your pictures, do you have a black dash or a grey one? I thought 88 had the black dash and 89 went to grey?

Where in AZ are you located?

Sure is a fun one, man! The dash *was* maroon red, but I just recently repainted it black. The 89’s had an option for maroon I believe, unless this interior was custom at one point; if so it’s sad that it got so demolished. Also, I’m located in Northern Arizona in the Payson/Show-Low region! Great state to be doing resto’s in.
