    when getting a new oil pump do i have to replace the retainer shaft, pressure relief valve and the pressure relief springs, the drive gears etc... ?

    if an attempt to put on an oil pan failed, and the rtv sealant was already put on the gasket and the oil pan, do you have to take off all the dried rtv sealant before your next attempt with that same gasket, and if so, what is the best way to take dried rtv sealant off a rubber gasket?

    @ Swims350, its a the horseshoe one i believe, it just looks a lil stubbier than a regular horseshoe, and i have purchases the dorman help a/c bypass pulley already for it and it has the six grooves i need, but what else do i have to change and what can i just plain old take out all together...

    lifters good or bad?

    you may want to check the lobes on ur camshaft, to make sure they haven't worn down too much or even broken or chipped.. cams should always be checked when replaceing the lifters, also try oiling a lifter and putting it in each of the bores to make sure it is a nice slop free slide fit

    just checked lmc and they only have the 5.0 and 5.7l engine sized tbi's, thats why i was wondering if i could interchange it for one of those and i know summit doesnt have any for the 4.3l either
