how to remove gasket sealer off a new gasket?

whats a good way to remove gasket sealer off of a new gasket? had issues putting the oil pan on right away, and i think i need to remove the gasket sealer i put on it and dried, so i can retry it. any help would be great, or tips

IF you used something like quick tack, you can let it dry and just reapply it when your ready to do it again. If you used silicone sealer, it will just peal off when it dries. IF you used something like Right Stuff or Ultra gray or Black, then I'm not sure, sometimes it peals off other times it can be scrapped off. You can use brake clean to soften it as well.

Lacquer thinner has worked well for me.
