Hey all. I have a 1999 gmc ccsb that I'm in the process of putting new speakers in, front and rear. They are ds18 pro-x6.4bm. In test fitting them I found out that since the magnet is so big the window hits it when I roll them down. I was just wondering if anybody else experienced this problem and how they went about solving it. I will try to attach some pictures to further explain the issue

As shown below it is a much larger speaker. I can't really return them so I'm going to have to make it work, I'm considering a spacer but Im afraid if i do that i wont be able to get the door panel to seat properly

They should fit the rear but I would find another speaker for the front. I like speakers behind factory grills.

Oh me too. But also on the crew cab there is no place for speakers to go. There aren't even rear speakers from the factory

The rear door panels not the same as a suburban? When I put the cerwin Vegas in mine they mounted directly to the rear door panels and the grill just snapped on over.

I read elsewhere on this forum about someone with a CC either modifying their rear door panels under the blank speaker grill or swapping to Suburban panels and that the wiring was pretty simple as well. I made a mental note of this since I have no desire to tear into the C-pillars to swap out rear speakers. Attached picture from a Suburban at the local pick n pull.

Apparently not. I'll figure something out though. I'm repainting it in the near future, might just use Suburban doors
