What's the trick to get the rear wiper flush?

Truck is a 92 blazer. The rear wiper isn't flush against the glass, there's a good sized gap so it doesn't do anything when it actuates. The wiper arm comes off easy if you grab it so it seems like its not latched on, but I can't see how its supposed to work either.

There should be a spring in the arm so that when you lift it off it snaps back onto the glass - same as front windshield wipers.

On my 98, there’s a tab that pushes in to lock the arm on. I’m not sure how the 92 was done, but it may be something to check.
