The easiest an cheapest install will be a locker . It will work fine for your aplacation literally a 30min install

-Lunchbox locker is cheapest and easiest. Not best for street manners tho

I thought the 2wd diesel half tons had 14 bolt rears.

Thanks, I found a ton of deals on mechanical lockers which will work just fine for me

Stay away from the factory rebuilt deals. For the time and money invested the lunchbox style would be better for a locker.
