what is going on?

the other day i started my truck and smoke started coming out of the dash, electrical fire, and now my AC/Heat doesnt come on. anyone have an idea of what it could be before i tear into this thing?

i had this happen to me once before and it was an inline fuse and boot that failed. the question is how much smoke and where in the dash did you notice it. either way, you're probably going to have to crack the dash unless it was near the fuse box.

not much and smoke came out were the ac controls are. i hope thats not the case

ya the CB works fine. it used to only work when the AC was off (bad wiring on my part). but now it turns on all the time

damn that sucks. however, fuses are designed to go first so have you looked at all the "bad wireing" you did before to look for melted wires?

never tie in to your AC controls unit for a 12volt line ... Ac pulls too much current ...
