Picked up a cheap(1000 bucks cheap) 98 2500 couple weeks back so I could retire my jeep from daily driving duty's to trail rig only.

Towed this home about two weeks ago. Body is straight and rust free, full load, leather, sunroof, Awd, yadda yadda. Had a blown headgasket and a stack of reciepts for new parts. Paid the guy $800 and drug it home. So far I'm in it for about $500 including getting the heads decked and it should be running this week. Just gotta find the time.

Just got back from a weekend of camping. This is the first Chevy truck that I have owned and the first real distance I towed with it. I was very impressed with how the truck handled the load. The truck road much better then my old truck and I was just a lot more relaxed behind the wheel.

I hauled a trailer full of wood yesterday- the truck fealt it, but towed it well. Stopping can be a bit sketchy though- This is about as much as I ever haul with the truck. I was a bit saddened though after I got home, my truck keeps popping the parking lamp fuse. I don't know what shorted out with the trailer hooked up... I'm hoping it's something simple like my cheapo LED running light bulbs shorted or something. I just finished chasing an 8 month old wiring issue on my avalanche, so I don't want to expose my whole harness in this... Headlights and parking lights were working perfect last week. :(

I also took the cap off for the summer- now to find a tonneau for it... Anyone have a decent stepside tonneau they want to sell? I found some for under $200 on amazon, but I would rather buy local and from someone I "know"

Pulling a tractor (tractor just used as ballast on trailer, taking test so I am endorsed by our socialist insurance company/lawmaker to pull a trailer of 10k lbs)

I guess here is one more since its GMT400 relevant. I bought the green truck for $100. Came with a red GMC grill (hit a small deer last fall) but the grill it came with was an early GMT400 so I won't use it. I don't think my grill is broken anyway. Just the filler panel and bent bumper brackets. I have all new lights and markers for the front of the red truck. The green truck was pretty picked over so I used it as a scrap bin, pulled a few pieces, and hauled it away.

Red truck is doing much better this year. I discovered an upper plenum leak was causing me misfires/detonation at medium rpm and above (high vacuum). The tuning (0411, cam, 29lb injectors) is going much better now. Pulled that large 5th wheel with no knock retard which made me happy. I was happy with the power too. The truck is less boring now with the cam, tune and 0411 versus factory.

Love this truck, looks so much better with the stock bumper and PYOs; do you still have the 5.3 K2500?

Yup still got that one. It did winter duty and then one day pulling into my driveway this spring on a lazy Saturday I had a trans line rub through (air filter hose clamp had been working on it for 40k miles). I couldn't even be mad because it took 40k miles and it didn't even leave me stranded. So then I pulled out the red truck and fixed my misfire/detonation issue that plagued me all last year.

What is PYOs? Now I have to pull out that bumper, get a grill filler painted and put on all new lights up front.

PYO is the RPO code for the GM Alloy rims I believe; it's the rims on this and the gray truck.
