Forgot to update with this bit of ridiculousness. I pulled the backhoe to my buddy's place to do some work for the day. I pulled it on backroads, kept it around 2400rpm in 2nd gear at 60 ish km/h. It felt ok for power and the trailer handles the weight awesome but it got a bit warm and I backed off a couple times too. Not a highway rated load. The hoe is 17k and the trailer is 8500. Gross combined 31.5k lbs. Closed course, professional driver.
First pic explains why I built the truck in the second pic. Truck in second pic is DT466 powered and will mean the GMT400s have an easier life in the future.
