The kits should all be the same, as long as you have the right power coming from the wire they should just splice right in...

ok. my dad has a 4 way flat and 6 way on his truck and my mom's tahoe too. Do I need a combination like that or will just the 4 way work?

I know you can get a connector to make the 6 way work with the 4, but not sure the other way around..

Splice in a simple 4prong. If u need a 6 or 7 prong in the future u can get an adapter. I have a 4 post and 2 different adapters.

IMO if your going to the trouble, wire in a 7-way with the flat 4 combination like the one I posted. They sell them at most stores, mine is a hopkins brand. Gives you the most versatility.

There should also be 2 wires on the side of the frame that are red and blue, they go with that wiring for trailer brakes and constant 12v power.

That is what you'll need for direct wired applications. Just cut off the flat 4 plug and wire everything directly in. I know walmart and oreiley's carry them.
