What exactly are these for?

2000 k3500 4x4/4l80 bought it as a project truck, long story short I was swapping over another l29 block and completely forgot to reinstall these! I'm assuming these are meant for when towing heavy loads??

They connect and reinforce the transmission via the aluminum torque converter cover to the engine at the motor mounts on 4x4s.
My Yukon Denali has them from the L31 to the 4L60 cover.
