Throttle cable

1998 k2500 5.7L I am at the very end of this head gasket replacement project and trying to put the throttle cables back together, and the round barrel looking one does not seem to want to seat properly in its hole. I can feel a hole on the other side of the flange but it doesn’t seem to go into it, and looks percarious just sitting there…any thoughts?

Update - it went in on about the 17th try. Super weird, not sure what the issue is but it finally seated properly. Was going to just cancel this thread but I'm still trying to figure my way about this website.

can't figure this out as to where to ask but here goes. i have an LS1 in 1988 k1500 and need a throttle cable. what do i use. Thanks

On my swaps I use the 99-02 NBS truck cable
