Well, forgive me if I'm forgetting wrong. I can't find the pics of my Vortec block, but I could swear the casting for the timing cover didn't have bosses for the missing bolts, because I was considering that if I drilled and tapped them, the wall was too thin and I'd have an oil leak. I remember seeing that the water pump bypass boss was missing, but I may be mis-remembering that. I do know for sure the fuel pump boss was solid and didn't need a cover.
