I just recently installed Audio Technix Sound Deadning Material to my 1997 Chevy Silverado 1500 Extended Cab ...
Thought I would post the setup ...
Most of this is copied and pasted from one of my favorite Car Audio sites ... www.downsouthbassproductions.com ...
There is more work to be done to my truck, but I will post what I have so far ... if you have any questions, please ask ...
Thank you ...
Randal ...

Other than tools I used for the door assembly, a measuring tape and a bell knife is all I used for this project ...

Driver and Passenger door tear down ...
Remember, try your best to measure twice and cut once ... better to cut too much then not to have enough material for the job at hand ...
I do not like adding small pieces to material cut too short ...

This pic also shows the install of the tunnel adapter for my Blues Car Audio 6.5" mid bass drivers ...
more pics will show the process of how this works ...

Outer Door skins ... nice long layers all the way across the doors and from top to bottom ...
Don't go all the way to the bottom of the door because water might get to the material ... I don't see this happening, but possible ...

Directly behind the midbass driver should be a square piece of foam egg crate material ...
This prevents standing waves (or something like that) behind the driver ... please see my "Sound Quality" thread for more info ...

Putting the doors back together ... The idea here is a very tight seal (similar to a sealed sub woofer enclosure) with no rattles ...
Use the deadner to seal off all the open holes and cracks ... These pics show the adapters I made for the 6.5" drivers ...

This one is a "cheater" for getting rid of rattles, and prevent air from excaping the door enclosures ...

memory foam (from Walmart) ... no need to get the expensive stuff. in fact, this cheap material ideal because the thickness is perfect ...
too thick of material here can cause you problems during your door pannel installations ...

Sorry, I only got a pic of the passenger door for some reason ... but you get the idea ...
