So how do you change the heater hose nipple?

On a 92 where it is on the rear of the intake? Seems like there's a wire loom and a bracket that get in the way. Also, how do you release the coolant hose? I've got a decent leak on mine. See pics.

Give the plastic quick release a squeeze, it should disintegrate, and then the hose is free to be pulled out.
Another way, if you can, don't mess with the quick connect, take a wrench and unscrew the fitting out of the manifold. Then remove the Quick connect from the pipe fitting.

THIS IS ONE TIME DORMAN ACTUALLY MAKE A BETTER THAN OE PART. Get this guy from your favorite "Help" isle. Rather than pop metal, it's actually made from solid metal. Don't pay attention to the label, this fits 87+ years.

There are 2 other instances I have to give Dorman credit, if not briefly. The replacement front sway bars for 97-03 or so W bodies were solid as opposed to hollow factory GM that tended to break into multiple pieces. The other being the LS2 replacement intake manifold. For a brief moment, this FAST knockoff was available cheap and easily ported to get close to the aftermarket. Once they figured this out thought, they jacked up the price and now the juice isn't worth the squeeze.

Thanks for this. Now, what is the easiest tool to get in there to turn the old one out carefully? FYI, my hood is currently off. Oh, and is the Dorman part restricted flow like the oem part?

The Dorman part is restricted just like OEM.

Lisle made a three-piece extractor tool, reamer, and pipe-thread tap (62450) for when the original fitting crumbles. Discontinued, but there's some old-stock hanging around.

Also sold with NAPA branding, and probably re-packaged for other retailers. This is the NAPA-labeled product, with most of the branding removed.

The extractor tool, minus the pipe tap and reamer, is still available.
