I have to install new mirror glass to the backing plate that snaps on to the "socket" of the mirror housing on one of my cargo vans. Anybody have a recommendation of what brand and type of sticky tape similar to the factory stuff?

I did this awhile back.

If you buy a new mirror from Burco it will come with it already. I don't think i used the tape though. I think mine was originaly done with silicone, and I think I installed the new one that way.

I had a local glass shop cut a mirror for a Tahoe a few years ago , he used silicone in a large circle to attach it. Fwiw he said the circular pattern forms a suction as well as the adhesive . Not sure about that but it never came off.
I like the idea of using silicone, I wonder what kind he used.....
