Shift up light

I tried searching and couldn't find anything so I'll try here. 1995 k1500 nv3500, I finally got my speedo reading correctly, (after 35's and 4.56) now the only issue is that the shift up light flashes in 5th when driving highway speeds. Is it possible that because the rpm's are so high computer thinks I'm in 4th when I'm not? Any way to disable that light or should I just pull the bulb and call it a day?

Pulling the bulb won't hurt anything at all. It can be disabled in the chip too, but pulling the bulb is much cheaper and faster.
