Recently had seats out of a 2000 model single cab silverado given to me and I was just curious about what all I need to modify for them to fit in a 96 single cab. I think they're called captain's chairs. Not real sure on that one. They're the seats with the seatbelts in them.

Your 96 seats are on a steel frame. The 2000 seats may fit in the same place when you remove the 96 seats from your truck. If not. You may be able to drill new holes for the 2000 seats, or you may need to reuse your 96 steel base on the 2000 seats, if you remove the 2000 seat from there original bracket. When you flip your seats over, you can see where they bolt to the steel base frame.

So I could take the seats off the sliders and bolt them to the frame from the 96? I test fitted them and the track they slide on hits part of the cab

Hopefully yes. Use the base of the 96, on the seats of the 2000. You may need to drill new holes in the base of the 96 to line up with the 2000 seats.
