Rear shoes dilemma

The 89 Im working on has a bad brakeline and i cant move it due to stuck shoes.
I know about the adjustments on the back but my question is if i adjust the shoes enough away from the drum will they stay away from the drum enough to move it?

Yes they will move away, unless they are rusted to the drums.
