I did the 4"-6" flip kit on my 1991 short bed 1500 pickup. I need to find out what shocks I need for it. Trying to find parts number or manfacture. HELP!!! LOL

These are what Belltech shows for the rear lowered shocks.
I have the street performance ones. From the reviews I've seen, they are miles ahead of the nitros.
I can't give you my opinion on them, as the truck has yet to hit the streets, but I have all the confidence in the world they will be fine.

Thank you. I like the second ones also. Would rather have a performance shock.

Nitro-drops. Nitro-slammers. The black B/T's. The white DJMs & the McGaughys.
They're all just rebranded Doetsch shocks.
Blechhh.
None of them are anything special.
Nothing more than short versions of an OEM shock with the same (yawn) stock performance characteristics.
My '98's been low for about 20 years.
Shocks. I've killed 'em all.
That would generally take about 3 seasons.
This last set...maybe 18 months.
IIRC, these are actually branded Doetsch

That dark area in the middle of the lower one's shaft is where it's been burnt blue. Lol! Yea.

The 'clank' was the the shaft rattling around inside the housing. All that moisture is shock oil. Seals shot & I don't think that the plunger inside was even attached anymore, just by the way that the shaft flipped & flopped around inside there.

I installed some of the B/T Street Performers.
Huge difference! But then, anything new would of been better than what I took out!
The S/P's do ride a fair bit stiffer than OEM. ...and all those other 'lowered' shocks.
Some have found the ride too harsh for their liking, but I kinda prefer that.
Better compression/rebound valving for a lowered vehicle. They ramp up quicker, firmer, when pushed.
A much more robust design.
Check the diff in shaft diameter between those 'old' ones & the B/T S/P's.
I haven't change my driving habits and they've put up with 6 years of 'me' & they ain't dead yet.

Good to know, and the way you have described your driving style in the past, I'm sure the ones I have will last for a long time!!!
Glad I paid the extra few bucks for the good ones.
