If your cable ends still have the boots on them, you must have something in between to bridge the gap or you wouldn't make a connection at all. The spacer is in there or something as a substitute. When the spacer goes bad, most people find corrosion and end up cutting the covering away so that the terminal ends can sit against each other which also requires replacing the original bolt with something shorter. Care has to be taken on picking bolt length as anything too long will bottom out in the battery and cause a leak.I was being sarcastic about the spacer. I know what your talking about however I honestly don't think I have one. I'll check when I get home tonight. Might look into crimping them all to 1 connector.
