Hey guys i have a 96 gmc 4x4 with a 4l60e. just rebuilt it with a monster rebuild kit and I put a 2300-2400 stall converter in it. not the greatest idea :hahano: ill cruise down the road and see smoke pull over and it seems to come out of the small tube on the top of the trans? is this an overflow? im putting an inline aux trans cooler to hope it cools everything down. any help would be great

That's the vent. Have you confirmed proper fill level with the engine running and warmed up, after slowly cycling the shifter through all the gears then back to park before checking? Correct dipstick and tube installed? Then yes, you're probably on the right path being concerned that it's running hot.

Maybe time to put a stock converter back in it? Stall converter not useful unless you're drag racing.
