I have an offer I don't think I can refuse.. I have a friend who has a 6-lug 14 bolt SF with 3.73 gears in it. It works great but he is wanting a 3.42 gear ratio. I have my 10 bolt, with 4.56 gears but I still have my 3.42 gears. Another friend just stripped his gear set of 4.56's and needs a set for a 10 bolt. I can trade my 10 bolt with 3.42 gears for a 14 bolt, and he is a certified mechanic so he wants to take them out and put the 3.42's in so he knows it's done right and him give me back the 4.56 gears. then I'll sell my 4.56's to the friend that needs a set. Call me crazy but should I not jump on that deal? I've already looked over the internals of the 14 bolt and it all checks out.

I plan on regearing anyways. I've been looking for a 14 bolt. The plan was to buy one, build/gear it, pull 10 bolt, install 14 bolt, then sell 10 bolt. This way it gets done in one step and it's helping 2 other friends. All I'd have to do is regear to 4.56 or whatever ratio I choose and that was the plan from the start, plus I can use the money I get from the sale of the 4.56's to go towards new gears for the 14 bolt

then I would say go for it can't best getting a better rear and helping some buddies in the process

Yeah I have a beater to drive around. That's no issue. I've driven it 3 times in the past month, and all 3 were for trips to the lake to offload/fish
