i am looking for a rebuilt trans for my truck all the trans shops around me are telling me $1,800-$2,200 after core i found this one http://www.smartpartsauto.com/manual_transmission_nv3500_chevy.html after shipping its $1,325 total and for that price i keep my old one. $190 return shipping not worth $200 core i would get $10 back lol 'not worth my time:nono:' what do you guys think is this a fair deal? i would rebuild mine but it was very loud and fourth gear was bad also end of input shaft is spun so what do ya think guys? should i get this one or dose anyone know of a cheaper place to go?

I know personally if my trans fails I will start looking for an NV4500 to replace it with. Those can be had for about $1,000.

93-02 3/4 and 1 ton trucks with a 5 speed. They have a cast iron top-loading case and a removable bellhousing. 93-94 have a super low first gear that changed to a bit higher one in 95+. Some half-ton trucks with the work truck package came with them as well in the early years, but it's pretty spotty. 3500HDs have them too but only in RWD form.

wow, I got a hit on a 95 1 ton with a 5 spd....I'll check it out. My cousin had a 93 3/4 ton with that trans in it with the granny gear. If I remember correctly, thats a heavy ass trans....but not a bad idea
