Noob's rear end question

Ok, i figured out today my 88 Gmc has a 10 bolt 8.2 rear end. Dumb question, Im wondering if all 10 bolt 8.5 are the same? ( the axles used in g bodies and the axles in our trucks) and can i swap the 8.2 for the 8.5 with no fab or any issues? Thanks in advance
