I made the decision to replace my stock head unit with a BOSS Audio BCPA9. Note, all the audio worked perfectly fine I installed the head unit my self and routed all the wiring... almost. I got the speakers connected, Battery power, accessory power, and ground, all the speakers are connected and no audio. Now I think the car I own, a 98 Tahoe, has an amplifier. And with an amp, there is an "Amp Feed" wire that I believe needs to be satisfied with power from a wire from the new HU. Now please correct me if I am wrong about what I just said or what I am about to say about these two next wires. This "Amp Feed" wire is pink and it should be satisfied by a Blue & White wire from the new HU that is labeled "Remote output" it is a 12v 500ma wire. I've connected the wire and nothing... but when the car is powered on and I touch the leads of the "AMP feed" and "Rem output" I can hear a click in the dash and the subs in back sort of bump a little bit. This tells me that the amp must be getting power, but still no audio from the Stereo. Now some say that the the solid blue wire which is very similar to the Blue w/ White wire should be connected instead, actually it is very unclear which is which and they are confused to be the same much of the time. The solid blue wire is labeled as an "Antenna Output" and is also 12v 500ma, it actually does the same Dash Click, and subwoofer bump that the other one does when everything else is powered. However the difference is that when the key is removed and the solid blue and pink wire are still connected, the dash starts clicking sort of fast on and off, it almost sounds like a blinker but faster. This clicking persists until key is inserted again and turned to the run position or when the engine is running, then the clicking stops. There seems like there should be power to the amp, but alas... still no sound. Really I am stumped I don't know if the amp feed is the issue or even where I should be focussing. If any one has experience wiring these head units can I have some help? What do I do. I went down a big rabbit hole in this post but I just want audio, if its something I didn't cover I'd love to hear it. Any help is appreciated!
