Hey guys and gals! I wanted to introduce myself to the crowd and give some background. I am originally from northeast PA where trucks are plentiful. Now, living in Philly, I am a bit of an outcast, BUT I LOVE IT. lol I cannot tell you how many times people ask me why I own a truck in Philly but they are always quick to ask me for favors to haul something. Anyways, I drive a 1991 K1500 extended cab with the now rare 8 foot bed. Not sure when manufacturers decided to stop making long beds but it seems all the new trucks have short beds. I have had this truck since high school and it went through college with me in the city. Needless to say but I love it. I come from a family of mechanics but I went the route of accounting as a profession. I like working on my truck and welding in my free time but I am not as knowledgeable or skilled as I would like to be to restore my truck to its former glory. What I have acquired is a place with a garage so I'm ready to start bigger projects other than just trying to keep her going. So thanks to everyone for posting on this site, I have learned a lot already. Also if anyone wants to reach out and point me in the right direction on how to get started I would appreciate it. I have all the factory service manuals but I afraid of working on something when I should have started somewhere else on her first. I did find some books on restoration but I don't want to keep blowing money on possible solutions. Its great to be here and meet everyone!
