Need experienced rear disc swap people 14 bolt

So I have looked and searched and have a few questions about a rear disc swap on a 14 bolt. My rig sits for as many as 6 months in Alaska when I am away. It is usually cold and wet where it will be. Think Seattle or British Columbia. The drum brakes often stick. If you would please let me know what your driving experience has been with your conversion I would really appreciate it. My brakes work fine for my application when they are not sticking so I am looking to reduce the hassle factor.

Do you have any sticking?
What is your experience on ice and snow? ** probably most important for me ***
What happens with the 1993 or similar ABS? Does it still work?

Never had a problem with mine, I live in Northern IL and the truck saw plenty of snow. 1998 K2500

I live in southeast pa. I haven't had any problems yet but then again we haven't really hit the coldest months here yet.
