I'm about to start building a new engine for my truck. I'm wondering if there would be any advantage to running an LT1 against a modified L31 with custom MPFI using a Victor Jr EFI intake and throttle body elbow adapter with an LS1 throttle body? I've heard the L31 heads are basically modeled after iron LT1 heads with different cooling. So with a good intake and some head work is there any reason the L31 won't perform as well as the LT1?
I'd like to keep the L31 because it's already in there and the ease of not doing the swap but don't want to leave some obvious power on the table I may be missing.
Thoughts and comments?
