Ok so I picked up the LQ today and I'm wondering if there are casting #s on the block that verify it as being an LQ9 as opposed to an LQ4. I know the 9 has flat top pistons versus dish pistons on the 4, but without pulling the heads to look at pistons are there other sure fire signs of knowing I have a Cadillac Escalade LQ9 6.0? It doesn't say Cadillac anywhere on it. The heads are stamped with a 317

The blocks don't have any identifiers I'm pretty sure. After some research the heads and blocks are the same between the LQ4 and LQ9. The only way to tell the difference is to pull the heads or take a spark plug out and look at the too of the pistons. They are gonna be dished or flat
