Looking to Upgrade my NV3500 5-speed for something better

Is the NV4500 the only better transmission for a 4x4 or is there anything else that works without major modifications? Like a 6-speed out of a camaro?

Has anybody swapped a NV5600 6-speed from a 4wd Dodge into a GMT400??

There may be a custom machined adapter or bell housing to fit an NV5600 to a Chevy engine, but I'm not aware of one. I'm not sure that the NV5600 input shaft would be compatible either without machining.

The NV5600 is also enormously heavy.

Zf6 would be good for a tow pig/4x4 rig and would work with quite a bit of modification. T56 would be a better option if its just a dd street truck

That is cool, thanks for sharing. Might be something I'd consider doing if I ever decide to make my truck into a mini-monster.
