Okay, so I currently have the DTC PO306 = Cylinder #6 Misfire Detected. I had it looked at today and he said it's the #6 injector, he also said it's original and that it's the old "tapet?" style - that I should upgrade to the new style.

Does anybody know what he is talking about?

Should I upgrade to this or no? What about replacing only one injector?

Links I've found on parts:
http://www.rockauto.com/catalog/moreinfo.php?pk=984604&cc=1031500 = $392
http://www.rockauto.com/catalog/moreinfo.php?pk=1112070&cc=1031500 = $257

:hmm: Thanks

Yeah, the original vortec injection system used "poppets" instead of actual injectors and they are very prone to getting stuck open or closed and causing misfires. If you know for sure that nothing ignition wise (plug, wire, dist cap/rotor) is bad then it's probably the poppet. thee's no way to replace just one, but the upgraded unit uses mini injectors rather than poppets and is much more reliable. Most people prefer to go with a Delphi unit IIRC

Alright thanks, I found these two links reading through the intake gasket replacement thread
http://www.amazon.com/Delphi-FJ10566-Fuel-Injector/dp/B000TYLIFS/ref=pd_sim_auto_1
http://www.amazon.com/Fel-Pro-MS98000T-Manifold-Gasket-Set/dp/B000CH0C0Y/ref=pd_sim_auto_5

And yes, I just did the plugs/wires/cap/rotor last weekend with all AC Delco parts

Then yeah, I'd put my money on the poppet being stuck...you could try running some fuel system cleaner through there or pull it apart and soak that one poppet in cleaner. That could free it up for a while if you don't want to buy the upgraded injectors
