Lets talk about this here governer in my truck

so i want to know how to take the governer out if i can, or how to bypass it or if i need a chip or somethin. it shuts my truck down at like 88mph and it ****** me off. I WANNA GO FAST

Yeah you need a different chip that will remove the rev limiter, I always do that, even in our burb, of course it's a programmer but still, I don't drive that fast but if I want to I like to know I can.

when they start with the governer I dont believe my 88 has one

just get yourself a new chip, should take care of the rev limiter as well

I believe 92 or 93, my 90 model didn't have one either, it would run until it blew apart, I think the rev limiter may have come in with the 4L60E which came in 93.

Don't ya love when the moon guages in the 88-94's would run back around when tryin to top it out? Think my 90 was gunned at 124 and the speedo just hit 30...damn i always thought that was cool.

'88 to early-'91, but yeah. I've had my '91 around to 55 before. Good times.
