At our altitude are found conditions very rare in the USA. Many different articles compare us to places in Canada.

if I can get a full day tomorrow the sub might run. Intake gasket at chinazon was 10 bucks. Should have ordered it. Auto Zone Delco was $61. Yikes. Been piddling with Virginia, formerly know as The Tahoe. That being where I found her and all. Dash is back in,and I'm tickled with how comfy the driver's seat is with non rotted foam. I think I'm going to try and lace the couple of splits up and recondition the leather. I like the lived in look better than the new leather. Soon I'll start paying her more attention.

I'm kinda embarrassed to share the sub it's so ratty. The last rolling resto I did turned out fairly nice. Hopefully I do Virginia a bit proud.

I've gotten myself confused, which ain't that hard to do. I've a set of JBA shorty headers on the way. The new short block is mine. Not sure but I think stock type pistons, and at the most 30 over. Stock 906 heads, and roller rockers. Want a little more cam. All that I'm familiar with. Will that be controllable with the stock pcm? I found that the 2000 to 2001 van 5.7 0411 is sorta compatible and easily tuned if needed. The tuning stuff is new to me. Hp tuners looks like a grand to get licensed and buy their dongle. That isn't happening. So if the stock box won't deal what is the least expensive way to approach this. I'm fundage limited in this and don't yet know the true state of the truck.
IE trans, brakes, suspension. Also anybody know of some learning aids so I can try and understand this stuff?

I'm using an obdxpro.com vt dongle and pcmhammer and ls Droid. That let's me read and write to a 0411 or p59 ecm. The dongle was around 100 bucks and the software was free. Tuner pro rt to make adjustments. I would have to look at my bookmarks but there are a lot of how too on tuning. I found a bunch of links here too gearhead-efi.com etc. Lots of tutorials around. Do some reading up on it. Kinda like tuning a carbed car but with electronic feedback.

Thank the motor gods, the sub runs! No ticks,or missing. No leaks yet. I broke both coolant temp sensors so I'll pick that and a new Serpentine belt tomorrow. Yippee yahoo!!! Rain for the next week and chilly tomorrow. Chance of white crap Sunday.

Found this fella. So far I like what he has to say. I'll be watching some more videos it seems.
