That's kinda why I got that IPCW clear lens, looks like factory, just all clear. Was gonna run LED bulbs behind it on the factory socket. But the damn thing only fits regular and crew cabs...no extended cab, and they don't offer one.

What's the difference? I thought they were all the same?

Nope, slightly different contour to the back of the cab, and therefore the housing. Some aftermarket housings seem to have found a happy medium that will work with both, but the factory ones were different.

Rear profile of the roof is not the same. Don't ask me why...just the way GM made them. A lot of the aftermarket 3rd brake lights seem to be designed in a way that they sorta fit either way, as in, they don't closely fit the shape of either roof, just a kind of "in the middle" fit.

The IPCW lens I'm talking about is a physical copy of an OEM lens so it has to mate with an OEM socket, and unfortunately, they chose only to do standard/crew cab.

edit - jinx
