Haha yes to the above! A lot of the street and strip guys that swap the L29 into their cars fork up a lot of $ on the top end OR switch to a carb set up.
Have you considered a bbk tb and boring out the intake manifold to match tb + some material from runners? I have heard the runners on the L29 are restrictive up to a point but staying NA, the block and parts are good for up to 10:1 compression... there should be plenty of cfm's to go around with the stroker kit you mentioned. Pair that with a 0411 swap and a good tune and you can really make the 454 vortec get it's grunt back... cam, adjustable valvetrain will compliment the stroker kit as well.
