Hey guys, wanted to some advice on my newest truck. I recently picked up a 97 1500 that needs ignition work and starter work according to the previous owner. According to them the engine runs strong and the transmission was recently serviced. It currently has 157,000. Here are some pictures. I was wondering how to go about fixing those any recommendations on parts would be awesome. Thanks again for the guidance, hoping to have it driving by Dinos Git Down lol.

Get a 1997 column from the boneyard to start and replace whatever that is !!!!
Oh wow that makes so much sense. Yeah I got the truck for $950 so I figured it wouldn’t be too pricey to fix it. I’ll go this weekend and see what I can find at the junkyards. Thanks!

Its a straight forward job. Take off the dash covers on the bottom. Un bolt the column support bracket. There is one keyed bolt which connects the column to the steering shaft. Lastly unplug the column, only 1 big gang plug, and swap it out. Be confident. Its easy. The column should run around $150-$200. Make sure the key is in the locked position and the wheel is straight when you buy it. If the column spins, when it is out of the truck, and it was not locked before removal, the clock spring for the air bag is toast !!!!
