How often to change fuel filter

How often do you change your fuel filter, looked online and found various answers I have 2yrs and 30k on mine

You need to change it. I do mine every other oil change(6000 miles). Some people say thats to often, but when I take it off and blow throught it, it is restricted. A plugged fuel filter will take out your fuel pump, so why chance it.

You can't overkill with it. It's a $12 part. Twice a year or so won't break the bank. That's what I would recommend. But then again if you put thousands of miles on it per month, doing it more often will be beneficial.

I change mine 3 times a year, but I use mostly treated junk yard gas.

Depends, the big truck probably every 4 oil changes, small truck every 2.

What's the process to change it out? Never did it before. Do I need to bleed the fuel system prior?

Nah, anyway you do it, fuel will get everywhere. The pre 96 systems automatically depressurize the fuel system when its off. The best way to do it is as quickly as possible with lots of rags. Two fittings on each side of the filter, unscrew, remove the filter, and reverse process with new filter. Its really easy, but I hate doing it.
