Hello all! My name is Matt. I am from Minnesota, and have a 1991 C1500 sport. I have had the truck for a few years, and it has been used as a daily by me, my dad and my step-mom. It has alot of miles on it, but it's fairly reliable. I also have a 1997 that is stock. I hate it. Every time I look at it wrong, something breaks. Bah...

The truck is not my first go at building a vehicle. I know I'm going to catch some greif for this, but I actually have a soft spot for imports (Japanese. Not Euro.). I know, I know.... BRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHH! But the first car I ever owned was a 97 accord that the last owner started on the right track with. It was a fun car. Not the fastest, not the prettiest, but I enjoyed it. And I have enjoyed all the other cars I've owned. From my POS Eclipse to my Cavalier, to my 240sx. I'm not the kind of guy who will hate on a car because of where it is made. I can find something to enjoy out of any well-built car, regardless of where it was designed.

Anyways, here is my 1991. It is mostly stock. The only mods done is that it is a 377 stroker, and the exhaust has been modified by the winter (AKA rusted and fell off a few days ago). Inside, it had the bench seat with the folding center console (may not have been stock for the year. I used to have a different 97 with the same seats.). I removed them and installed the seats and center console from a 2000 Cavalier. It has some sort of CD player and some cheap speakers. I don't really give a damn about the radio haha.

Sorry about the crap pic quality. I don't have a very nice camera. If anyone wants any decent pics, my ol' lady has a fancy camera. I wouldn't mind taking a few extra snaps for the site.

As far as plans for it go, I have alot in mind (though we'll see what actually happens). The long term goal is to just have a truck that I truly enjoy all the sights, sounds, smells, and all that from, just like everyone else. But the big picture was inspired by a local at the auto-x event at Car Craft last summer. He had a 95 2wd and was in the auto-x event (doing very poorly). But it made me think "why not?" Before that I had never seen much in terms of making an 88-98 C/K1500 handle like a sports car, but I figure with a little work, and alot of time (and ALOT of careful planning/thinking) I could have a truck that handles like you wouldn't expect. I know I'm not going to be able to build a truck that will put a Ferrari to shame in the bends, but thats not what I want. I want something that I don't have to think twice about before turning sharp. I want a truck that nobody else around me has (or has even considered). I want a truck that makes every drive more than a drive. So, here is what the future (hopefully) holds for my truck.

Exterior plans - Nothing major. Maybe pull out the dents and remove the rust, but other than that the only thing i want is a black roll-up bed cover.

Engine plans - I'm still in the air on what to do as far as an engine is concerned. There are alot of good choices but I'm not sure what I want to do yet. I know that I am going to want to use a turbo (my experiences with the many cars I have had leads me to want another turbo) but I don't know engine what to bolt it too!

Drivetrain plans - T56. Nuff said.

Suspension plans - Since my goal is to turn, this is a big part of the build. Initially, I wanted bags, for comfort. But I have since decided against air bags and instead have decided that the IRS from a C3 corvette is what will work best.

Thanks for reading!
Matt

And no, it doesn't look that terrible in person. Minnesota winter is hell on any car or truck, and these were taken when I needed a car wash haha.

Looks like a pretty decent start.

You have a lot of plans, do you have something else to drive?
