I've used Susquehanna Motorsports (rallylights.com) for all my lighting upgrades and stock light/bulb replacements on all my cars. Family business and the guy knows what he's talking about. I have the h6054 sealed beams and want to upgrade to a bulb housing as well. He quickly advised me against LED because while brighter, they do not "throw" the beam far down the road like a conventional halogen bulb with typical reflectors. He said to just bump the wattage to 100 or 130 max (because of heat/longevity) and those are still whiter and brighter than stock bulbs by up to 40%. Give them a ring. Awesome company.
ummmm....no...no. are you talking about putting 100w bulbs in the stock GM housings? composite OR non-sealed beam quad lens housings?
i'll come back and give a better reply later. i have some errands to do now. i hope i misunderstood what you wrote or what he meant.
the metal housings may be able to handle the heat, but the stock harness is a crap shoot on letting the smoke out of the wires or a possible fire......that's not to mention that wattage isn't close to legal. Not stock housings. The way I understood this is that metal housings with glass lenses are necessary. I could go back and get exact details if clarification is imperative. Lol. Should've made notes.

i talked to Will over there....and was very impressed by what i got out of our phone conversation....i posted about it in my thread too....i'm hoping that he didn't say that or there was a "disconnect" in the conversation somewhere.......that's sure a no no in my book, anyway you look at it.....especially if you're driving TOWARD it.
Right on. I prob remembered part of that wrong. Glad you were as impressed as I was with Will. My apologies if I posted erroneous information. I would certainly not proceed with any upgrades before getting the details from him again.
Come to think of it- he may have been talking about my auxiliary lighting which was def part of our convo.
