Newer vehicles will thow a code for a loose gas cap, but I don't think our trucks do....unless maybe that would be sensed on the trucks that have the pressure sensor on the pump/tank..... I don't have one.

They do, but there's no separate dash light or anything. It will just trigger a CEL and throw a P0455 (Evap gross leak) code.

My '00 5.7 had a EVAP that didn't open when I tested it with 12V. I never had a code for this, just the symptoms I mentioned.

According to the Haynes manual, the Codes related to EVAP are:

P04XX

XX = 40, 41, 46, 52, 53, 6, 62, 63.

No different than any modern vehicle.

I wonder if anyone here has had this codes?
