From Vortec --> LS1 Engine

I own the 1997 GMC Yukon 2DR...

I'm thinking to drop an LS1 engine in it. I just want to know what should I do with the transmission.. is the 4L60E OK with the LS1 and the front Differential.


I dont want to use the 4L80 transmission cause what i know that it is heavy.

4L80-E is a better choice for a heavy vehicle with more power, unless you want to spend several thousand bucks on a 4L60-E to make it survive.
