6.2 stock is best option. I have the same truck with a 5.3 and if I could go back I'd wait and get a 6.2. A 5.3 can definitely get you some more power with a cam etc but even great 5.3 heads barley touch 6.2 stock. Your going to end up putting the same amount of money into a 5.3 to get stock 6.2 power and yet your 5.3 will be under more stress being pushed harder etc or you can have the same power stock idle and all oem parts with the bigger engine. Also as everyone has stated you need torque so unless your gonna get a turbo there's no displacement for displacement as they say
