Kick panel area "courtesy lighting" - 88-94 it's a single filament bulb so while an 1156 would fit in there, that's not what comes original. A dimmer bulb with the same size base but smaller globe, a 1003, is used - it's about a 12-13W bulb vs. 27-28W of the 1156, so if you had 1156's in there that was way brighter than original.

For an upgrade on the new smaller wedge base 168/194 bulbs that 95-up use, you'll probably have to go to an LED and experiment with a few til you find bright ones with a good beam spread. For incandescent you can try the next size up globe that I believe has the same size base, which would be like a 921, which is 17-18W. If you leave them on a long time you might melt the plastic base of the socket.
