A regular TBI pump should be more than enough pressure, even with a tbi pump you would have to have a good regulator under the hood.

I had a mechanic from accross the street come over last night at take a look at the issue. He tells me that i need to get a higher PSI fuel pump at least 30psi. I havent gotten a chance to talk to him yet but does that sound right? to me i would figure that more pressure would cause more fuel to be pushed out?

again total retard when it comes to carbs

a TBI pump is more then enough, most carbs only need 5-7PSI.

i would say you need a new regulator, and make sure you have a by-pass style one.

I have as I stated before a Mallory Pressure regulator.

I had a conversation with a co-worker about upgrading to an inline fuel regulator.

How much trouble is that?

I suggest whatever brand you get you do like was suggested above and go with a bypass style!
