Choosing a Location for a Spare Tire mount in the box

Yeah, the assembly I got from LMC is lockable, and is sturdier than it looks on the website.



The squarebody K-5 came with a bracket to carry the tire in the right rear.
Basically mounts through the bed and has a stud to mount the tire.
It would be pretty easy to fab something similar just make sure it has a provision to lock it.
Some ass broke out the back window on my K-5 and stole the spare

Cool, just remember to turn that tire or put it into the roatation every now and then.
I ran mine in the Arizona sun without the hardtop on my K5 for about three years and when I finnally needed it, It was cooked baked and split.
It came unglued the day after I put it on

Yup heat and tires don't play well together. Learned that on some utility trailer tires 30 years ago....fun finding replacement that night too!

Yep! brand new never used BFG all terrain 31×10.5
Going down a steep ass trail on Mcdowell Mountain in Scotsdale.
In 4 low hanging off the seatbelts.
Finnally got to a point where I could turn sideways without rolling the truck.
Got out to look at it, a stuck my knee into a Cholla cactus.
And then it got worse!
About a 8.5 on the suck scale
