Well, I didn't check the fuel pressure yet but I did the carb cleaner test. No change in engine idle when sprayed on intake gaskets, around MAF, around air intake/throttle body seal and brake booster junction. Crap, I didn't do around the evap canister...

So, let's review::

A few weeks ago, i failed inspection due to the SES light. The codes given were P0171/P0174 (both banks lean)

Parts changed in last six months:

Fuel pump, strainer & inline filter

Distributor cap/rotor

Cleaned Mass Air Meter

Parts changed and maintenance performed since I failed inspection:

Fresh oil change

Air filter

New upstream oxygen sensors

New mufflers and fixed exhaust leaks (all downstream from cats though)

Sprayed carb cleaner around all vacuum lines/hoses, mass air/air duct/throttle body/air intake junctions and intake manifold to head gaskets with no change in idle.. I don't suspect any external leaks.

It ran really great, using less fuel (300 miles to 3/4 tank so far) BUT after about 50 miles, the SES light is back on and my truck is surging at every speed. @&$%!!!!!Parts I'm considering changing next:

PCV valve

MPFI upgrade

Also going to check fuel pressure next...

.

Suggestions?!????

I vent to vatozone & held that part in my hand Sunday. I'm gotta wait another couple of weeks to buy it, my woman is having jaw surgery tomorrow and I gotta give her 100% of my attention for a week or two.

I have not. Haven't had any reason to. But I would not buy from Autozone!!! I worked at Allstar chevrolet for 7 yrs. I changed a few. We would either use gm or the carquest ones. They use to be about$300 from carquest.

I know, but I've had mixed experiences with every parts vendor in BR. Im not a loyalist anymore. I normally buy from who has what I want in stock.

Before you drop that kind of coin. Check fuel pressure and if it's low or drops after pump turns off take a vice grip and pinch off return line.
If pressure holds and raises over 80+psi with return pinched i would suspect the reg
