I was wondering if anyone knew how to take the decks w/ equalizers apart from the square dash years or at least a place to find instructions on how to do it. I'm pretty sure a belt broke in mine and once I got it out of my truck I can't figure out how to get the stupid thing apart.

Used some air to clean it out. Now is also a good time to clean the tape heads with a swab and alcohol, as well as a little lubrication on the mechanism.
Reverse everything to put it back together.

I wish I could find one that played in stereo, and played well.

My old one was right channel only, and sounded terrible. This one is slightly better, but sometimes the left channel cuts out and I have to pound on the face of the thing to get it to cut back in.

That sounds like the head needs cleaning, or a wire may be broken on the tape head itself.
